Jesus got apart, but often pastors and full time Christian workers follow Jesus in every area except to get away and take care of themselves and their families. Even on the cross Jesus was concerned for his mother. As a pastor, my wife & I were constantly involved in all the “business” of ministry. My daughters 8th birthday was coming up. When we asked her what she wanted for her birthday we received quite a shock. She asked for a day with just Mommy and Daddy. Wow! What a heart grabbing statement that was. We immediately canceled anything for the next week’s Thursday and Friday and had a wonderful time away together. This wake up call made us wonder how many more pastor’s little girls, boys, and maybe even wives feel this way. This led to the development of Stillwater's Care Cottage Ministry ...

Our Care Cottages will be designed to be a cup of cold refreshing water to weary ministry workers. We seek to “minister to the minister” and “serve the servant.” Our Care Cottages will be open to Pastors and full-time Christian ministry workers.  We plan to offer a "preventive maintenance" program that includes self-directed studies in a variety of subjects and time to spend with both God and family.  The cottages are offered free of charge and provide a place to escape the intense pressures of ministries.  It is our desire that Christian workers may come apart for a while so that they may renew their commitment to:  Their Father, Their Family, Their Focus, Their Future .
